CSA Z96 - Garment Evaluation
Certifying to CSA Z96 covers the design of the high visibility apparel, the background material, retroreflective material, and combined-performance retroreflective materials. Garment design must assure conformance with material requirements AND garment design. CSA Z96 differs from EN ISO 20471 and ANSI/ISEA 107 in some testing requirements, the inclusion of “bright colors” for flame resistant apparel, and the characteristic “X” pattern requirement on the back of garments to indicate that the work zone worker is NOT facing the driver.
The ArcWear laboratory offers garment compliance evaluations for CSA Z96 to assure that the trim placement and quantity is correct and the assure all design characteristics are met. Our lab reviews the design, care labeling, marking, instructions, ergonomics of the CSA Z96 garment, as well as the test data from the components, to issue a certificate of compliance with the standard.
