IEC 61482-1-1 Method B

Once the arc rating of the fabric is established a garment can be evaluated for arc exposure. Prior to testing, samples are laundered five times and dried once using ISO Method 6330. The garment is exposed to an arc flash at approximately the level of the arc rating of the fabric. The fabric is checked for breakopen, afterflame, melting/dripping and shrinkage. The closures (zippers, buttons, snaps, hook and loop) are checked to make sure that they did not break open and are still operable.
